Employees Gauge Name: Institution: Date: Use of revenue per employee as a gauge to measure the performance of an employee is no longer the best option to measure the value of the company workforce. In my own understanding this method of gauging overlooks other factors that an employee may have gone through in order to make the revenue. Therefore, it is good to put into consideration other factors to evaluate the performance of the workforce in comparison to the company competitors. In order to support my argument let me consider the following example. A sales man may sell goods worth $120,000 per month whereas another salesman makes sale of goods worth $70,000 for two weeks. It is clear from a glance that the first salesman makes more sales but he uses more time than the second salesman. Therefore, use of revenue as a measure of gauge cannot be the most appropriate method of measure (Geutal & Stone, 2005). The best measurement to be used by the management is time to hire.
