Explain why the agency(ies) that took the case was the appropriate one for the particular circumstances. Describe a recent incidence of crime that occurred within your community(I live in Newark, NJ). Suggest how implementing at least one (1) of the changes that Sgt. The theory posts that people become criminals largely because of family influence, peer pressure, poor self-esteem and other legal aspects that may draw them to criminal activities. According to this theory, any one may become a criminal given the circumstances of how he or she was brought up (Wilson, 1990). Most criminologists have employed this theory to explain and point out why individuals involve themselves in criminal activities. This concept is sourced from another model of symbolic interactionism. According to the model, all individuals including those that are involved in criminal activities attempt to make sense of their social perspective. When doing so, they relay symbolic meaning to some specific aspects of social reality, which ultimately determine their reactions to them. In perception of their individual way of viewing this reality, the individual then realigns some of these aspects of action and the subsequent consequences to be at par of such a perception (Seigel, 2006). Osama bin Laden is just one example that can be used to illustrate how an individual’s experiences and circumstances may be influential in making a person to involve himself or herself in criminal activities.
