This makes it short and concise while at the same time gives a conclusive summary of the main features in the report. The background of the abstract outlines the need for the research project and the main areas under focus. The abstract gives an insight on the method used for the research and the specific group used for the research. The abstract further gives an insight on the results of the research and its conclusion. Introduction The background of the reports gives an introduction of the research paper with clear identification of the phenomenon of interest. It relates the need of considering treating the elderly in the nursing home as opposed to taking them to hospitals as projection are that majority of the elderly will spend most of their time in nursing homes by the year 2020. Pneumonia has been identified as one of the major cause of mortality and morbidity along with other respiratory infections in the nursing homes. The diseases have also resulted in the highest hospitalization cases among nursing home residents hence a justification of the research paper.
