Indeed, for the immigrants they troop to such states for search of a better life (American Dream) only to be exploited by the farmers. The immigration reforms and control act (IRCA) was developed to regulate the illegal immigrants to the United States; this was by punishing those who hire illegal immigrants. However, since illegal immigrants provide cheap and affordable labor to the farms the farmers would need to invent new ways to exploit the immigrants. The invention of farm labor contractors ensured that immigrants still found their way to the farms and work.
