This trend has changed and the labor comprise diverse workforce comprising of all job titles in health care facility ranging from the field of health, management, research, security and engineering. This is because the role of public health has expanded in scope and complexity because of global changes both socially and economically (Public Health Careers , 2012). The emergence of natural disasters and infectious diseases has drawn attention to the significance of health care workforce and its link to individual and society’s health. The workforce is engaged more than emergency preparedness and response to prevention of diseases, promotion and protection of society’s health. The center for disease control and prevention (CDC) has defined the health professionals as those who are educated in public health and related disciplines to help in improving health through a population level focus. CDC has provided employment across multiple settings that represent a range of discipline, skills and education and training background (CDC, 2012).
