Generation Y Name: Institution: Generation Y Generation Y, also known as ‘Nexter`, ‘Millennials` is a generation that followed the generation X and refers to the people who were born from 1982 to 1994. According to Human Resources Institute of New Zealand (2010), generation Y are seen as development oriented; hence, are more concerned on the economic expansion because they are well educated and are well equipped with the current technological advancement as compared to Baby Boomers and Generation X. Moreover, in comparison with the first two generations, Baby Boomers and X, generation Y believe in teamwork at their working premises, which makes it easy for various organizations to operate effectively towards their objectives. Additionally, for the operation of generation Y to be successful, they work under the guidance of various norms of the organization that are constituted by the company`s top officials. This helps them to develop effective communication system within their working premises (Human Resources Institute of New Zealand, 2010) Foster, through the literature work, ‘In Mind the Gap`, provided detailed information on how the three types of generations, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Y do have different views based on work experience and approaches used but end up within the same working premises. This statement is true and organizations should ensure that the three classifications of generations are combined so as to work together towards the objectives of the organization.
