Introduction
The numbers of projects that take place in this current age have grown enormously. Many of these project undertaking companies especially in the construction industry have realized that their main advantage that guarantees them of their success lies in their capacity to manage and deliver these projects successfully. However, there are several problems that these organizations face ranging from the lack of information sharing and knowledge management, unmeet timetable and schedules, overrun budgets and the unmet needs of the end users (Sunindijo, & Zou, 2013). From this, it is imperative that a proper knowledge of management and construction interweaved on information sharing should be keenly adhered to in the event an organization seeks to succeed in their projects.
Logically, it is essential that the project participants are well educated and enlightened, with better working experiences in order to meet the working procedures. It is, therefore, essential that there is a common language geared towards meeting the demands and needs of the industry (Sunindijo, & Zou, 2013). Project team personnel’s in this accord have to understand and incorporate new ideas and information in order to meet the challenges in the field. This paper, therefore, seeks to conceptualize and underline the meaning of the global learning mean in the construction management industry.
Learning in Construction Management
The development of any building and the creation of essential goods and services are in one way or the other inclined to the construction industry. The construction industry is well known for its ability to provide and sustain and maintain infrastructures that enhance the well being and quality of the lives of people. Learning mean in the construction industry is treated as the process by which construction organizations acquire, disseminate and apply the knowledge they get for the continued existence of their success (Ibrahim, Costello, & Wilkinson, 2015). In the organizational learning process, its increasing competitiveness remains the single most driving force for in the industry. According to Ibrahim. et al this process is supposed to be goal oriented.
Other authors in this field have however viewed this process like the growing of insights and the successful restructuring of an organization's problem by personnel as reflected in the structural rudiments and outputs of such an organization (Vaughan, Leming, & Jaselskis, 2013). In a nutshell, it is one thing that learning encompasses the development of insights and the other that this process is substantiated by structural and action-based outcomes.
