Mystery Alaska
Mystery Alaska film was directed by Jay Roach in 1999. The film sheds light on ice hockey team in a fictional small town in Alaska, with the name of mystery, the team play against National Hockey league rangers of the New York City. Hockey game is considered cohesive in the region promoting team player, ultimately uniting the Alaskan people in the town with the rest of the world. The town practices Hockey game on Saturdays, which is played on the open ice and on the frozen lake.
The film constitutes two genres hybrid. The film is considered a sports movie representing the views of all the family members in audience. The movie shows love for the hockey game, a trait identified with personality and togetherness. People in Alaska express their views through the game. The Alaskan hockey team from the city of mystery expresses their honesty by competing with the New York City professionals rangers. Alaskan team believes in themselves, following practices every Saturday to perfect their skills. The continuous practices have been taking the shape of four to four amateur pond hockeys.
Respect for one another is displayed in the film ‘Mystery Alaska’. The team consists of ten townsmen who are from the local communities. The team does not discriminate on the participants.
