The 19th century was basically characterized by collapse of major empires such as the Portuguese, Roman and Spanish. This was a major set for the establishment of the British and German, Japan and United States empires. The image describes the Post-WWII Southern Politics; 19th Century Congressional Elections. Elections were a basic process to assert the rights of the majority and still let the minority to be heard. In this era the southern politics dominated the political scape with the democrats and republicans differing on the issue of slavery.
