Introduction
Pop music, as it is commonly known, came to life in the 60s. It is basically the short form of popular music and has a baseline in Rock and Roll, Urban, Latin and Dance. It is also one of the most influential music genres in the history of America and most parts of the world. Pop music also gave rise the cultural dynamics most of which are alive to date. Popular culture is now part of the community encompassing entertainment, magazines, newspapers, movies, television, books, comics art work, sports and of course music (Schifferes, 2005). All of this came after the industrial revolution as the society was gearing towards leisure and entertainment prompted by economic growth. Pop music also had subtle influences on the cold war, the Vietnam War and the reforms that the American society enjoys today.

This was a time when the world was staring down the barrel of a nuclear war. The Beatles lit up the mood, with electrifying lyrics that urged people to live for the moment. No one knew what would happen next, and if it did happen that they were bombed in the faceoff, they would have lived their lives. The war had taken away all the moral standings that most adults and the leaders in the society had to offer after the bombings in Hiroshima (Sandbrook, 2013). Music offered the only the youths needed at the time, hope. At the time it was coming from a group of youngsters who did not have anything to with the cold war and the disillusionment that came with it.
