A teratogen is anything that can hinder development of the fetus in a pregnant mother`s womb. It can cause a birth defect, malformation of the embryo, or even terminate the pregnancy. Teratogen can be in form various harmful drugs such as nicotine, cigarettes, alcohol or birth control pills.
