Effects of Gender Inequality
Gender inequality is an ill moral practice affecting many countries across the world. Most demographics think that women are weak, leading to poor treatment of their gender in society. The issue affects both developing and developed countries, revealing that the root cause might be attached to cultural beliefs and practices. For instance, countries with the leading economies globally, like the United States show different incidences of gender inequality like low wage allocation and pension rewards for women despite the amount of workload in question. Although most people may not recognize the impact of gender inequality, the issue affects most women negatively accounting for their miserable lives in society.
Gender inequality leads to violence and bias against women, while men have the privilege of impunity after the events. Most women in society face brutality either from relatives or colleagues. Still, they cannot report the issue because the offenders might have exemption rights in the issue (Institute of Development Studies, n.d.). Gender inequality has left many women on the verge of despair due to issues like mistreatment and domestic violence in most homes. Viewing women as lesser humans have resulted in oppression whereby most women degrade the former for their satisfaction since the latter think and institute that their happiness is more important than the feelings of women.
Wong, 2018 argues that gender inequality affects the healthy wellbeing of women resulting in stress that persists to insomnia. In most cases, the trauma affects the women resulting in issues such as continuous lack of sleep. On the other hand, the victims finding some sleep go through the challenge of dreams related to the desire to solve the difficulty. What more suffering should the women go through before they get stressed? Besides, the population has many tasks to handle in family settings, especially for working individuals. According to (Wong, 2018), many ladies in marriage testify that balancing work and family issues never have, and they do not deem for the situation to be comfortable. On the other hand, men ridicule and dismiss them in the public perception that they ought to do their work as expected, and if not, they are not well mannered. Going through difficulties is seen as a standard situation. Still, most women suffer through stress into depression because they should not complain and should they indulge in such the issue is turned against them and in favor of men. For example, most ...
