Technologies that led to social revolutions and their consequences
In the recent past, technology has been responsible for social revolutions experienced. More categorically, four technological innovations have been primary drivers of social revolution for thousands of years. These four technologies include: animal and plant domestication over ten thousand years ago, the plow invention, steam engine invention, and computer invention. All these technological innovations resulted in massive social revolution (Henslin, 2001). This paper seeks to discuss these technologies and their consequences as well as the process of social change according to William Ogburn.
Domestication of animals and plants led to transformation and revolution of the earlier society to pastoral society from hunting and gathering.
