As a thinker, I love being compassionate to people around me. As much as they embrace their intellectual abilities, I must always remain cognizant of their emotional and instinctual status as well. I particularly do express such compassion to friends and relatives with my heart the same way I express them in my mind. I would always never want to judge my friends and relatives because the world is already full of judgment and segregation. I want to show this compassion to my friends. The character who exhibit such traits in William Faulkner’s novel, The Hamlet is Horatio. Despite his friend Hamlet giving up in life and seeing death as the ultimate solution, Horatio stood with him without segregation or judgment (Shakespeare, & Flesh, 2013). Instead, he advised Hamlet to live and tell his story to the future.
