Many people use social media and have influencers or programs they follow. For many years, the media has exposed these individuals to thinness ideals turning them into new reference standards (Jiotsa et al., 2022). Many young ladies who adore trendsetters in the media are sensitive to these thinness ideals, and they liken it to success and beauty because socialites post pictures that depict them as slim and rich. Continuous acquaintance with such depictions leads individuals to desire the celebrities' bodies and even believe that becoming thin improves how their peers and society view them. The change in attitude towards physical appearance leads to eating disorders (Eds) (Jiotsa et al., 2022). These people may become worried that they are eating more which may result in being fat rather than achieving the desired slim body.
Although the pressure to conform to the thinness ideal is intense, some individuals are resistant. Such people internalize thinness ideals differently and are at a lower risk...
