Effective immediately all members of staff are required to quit smoking inside the office. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas outside the building. However, be warned of the harmful effects of smoking on your health.
The Adverse Effects of Nicotine on the Body
The tobacco in cigars and cigarettes contain an active ingredient called nicotine. Constant intake of nicotine can lead to cancer and heart disease. Smoking nicotine produces a byproduct called menthol. This is highly addictive. It is what causes you to get hooked and can lead to your death.
Simply put, nicotine is a drug and a highly toxic one. Not only it is present in tobacco, but it is also present in many insecticide and pesticides. It is not intended to make you feel relaxed, or make you feel good, it is intended to kill. It goes right into your bloodstream and straight to your brain. Nicotine never completely leaves your body. Why take any more changes?
Also, when you light up and puff, you are inhaling tar and smoke. These toxins negatively affect your blood cells and internal organs. This is why pregnant women are advised not to smoke. The tar sticks to your lungs and can lead to other health complications, most notably lung disease.
