Levels of stress among Americans have tremendously increased over the recent past, especially among the people in various workplaces. This has been attributed mostly by the workplace conditions that have continued to make lives of many Americans more strenuous.
Research Hypotheses
Research hypothesis 1: It is hypothesized that, poor workplace conditions leads to increased stress resulting to accelerated process of aging (weathering) which causes low birth rates and high morbidity and mortality rates at young age.
Research hypothesis 2: It is hypothesized that, the workplace conditions for many American minority groups are poor leading to increased stress as a result of inadequate access to social and health services as well as reduction in social connectedness and cohesion.
The above mentioned hypotheses have been developed out of the existing research mainly because there are numerous studies that have already been conducted on how workplace environment is related to stress among Americans. The hypotheses have been developed after considering the findings of those studies that directly correlate workplace conditions and levels of stress among Americans and especially the minority groups. In addition, these hypotheses have also been developed after considering how workplace conditions for many American minority groups is associated to socioeconomic status related stress. Evaluation of existing stress problems has also been done to develop these hypotheses.
If these hypotheses are confirmed then it means the generated findings will add to the pool of information existing in the literature on how workplace conditions are related to levels of stress among Americans.
