In your readings for this module, you have come across several researchers such as Carl Rodgers, Martin Buber, Carol Gilligan, Lawrence Kohlberg, and Paolo Freir.

Summarize the researcher's contribution to ethics in communication.

Born in 1902, Carl Rogers was the fourth of six children. Carl Rogers lived in Oak Park, a suburb of Chicago. His father had a successful career in civil engineering. Carl Rogers’ mother dedicated his life to serving God as a devoted Christian (Thorne & Sanders, 2012). In this article, the authors state that Carl Rodgers contributed to ethical communications in various ways. At workplaces, staff members should communicate well to each other when sending messages (Thorne & Sanders, 2012). Consequently, the sender of the message can receive feedback in good time when the correct channels are used for communication.

Ethics is a system of moral principles. To practice good ethics, people should endeavor do what is correct at all times. Rodgers stated in this article that an ethical communication requires an individual not to talk about personal or business positions of others in public or to a third party. Rogers practiced ethical communications in several ways (Groom & Fritz, 2012). In addition, practicing ethical communication earns respect within individuals.
