Born of a wealthy lawyer in Rhineland city, Germany, Karl Marx had been one the greatest modern thinkers as a philosopher, sociologists and even doubled as an economist among others. With his knowledge in economics especially with reference to the relationship that exists between labor and capital quotients in business, he came up with one of the most influential socialist revolution against capitalism. The Prussian government at the time in Germany would not allow Marx to become a professor in any university given the amount of influence that he had. As such, he turned to training new revolutionaries instead of becoming one himself (Davies, n.d.). After acquiring his Ph.D. from the University of Berlin, he started writing newspaper articles expressing his ideas, but later the journal he was writing for was closed, and later on, he was exiled from Germany. In exile, much of his work involved freelance writing. Most of his works related to the aspects of the ways the society works and the historic developments related to the same. He was one of the toughest critics of capitalism, while at the same tried to explain the problems that the world was facing and the more that was to come.
One of his greatest contributions related to the theory of alienation in capitalism (World Socialism, 2014). It was in the 1844 in manuscript on economy and philosophy that Karl Marx came up with the relationship between estranged labor and capitalism. According to the manuscript, Marx brought out the fact that capitalism was a way of alienating the workers from the products of their labor. While the product of labor lived outside of workers, it was legally owned by someone else, in this case the employer. As such the fruits of labor for the workers were forcefully taken away from them (Davies, n.d.).
