Introduction
Corporate governance in different governments has been achieved via the use of laws. Moreover, without law in this world there would be no order in any nation or state. Therefore, when different laws are put together into one document, they make up a constitution. Additionally nations may have a written or unwritten type of constitution. In some cases, nations may differ in their constitutions in the various clauses but the most important thing is on the way it gives a direction and protocol that should be followed when activities are carried out in a stated. The constitution does not only comprise of governance, but it also explains on the rights of the citizens of a nation. Therefore a constitution is considered to be above all people in a state failure to which one will be arraigned in a court of law. The most important mandate of a constitution is to address the democratic rights of the citizens. In this paper, I am going to discuss on the importance of a constitution to a state, how a constitution come in to existence or on how they are formed and more so what makes the constructions to last.
The importance of a constitution
A constitution is very important as it play major roles in a country. Via a constitution, the structure of the government on how people are supposed to be governed is laid off. The constitution explains on the roles of the three arms of the government which are the executive, legislature and the judiciary. It elaborates more on the powers of these arms, the duties to be performed and more on the relationship between the government and the people (Lippmann, 2015).
Secondly, a constitution provides for the laws that should be followed by the citizens regardless of their position in office, race or tribe. It is the most supreme organ in any government and therefore anyone should follow it.
Through the constitution we also get to understand the limitations of power. Since power brings in inequality, a constitution restricts on the abuse of power by people who may hold big positions in the government (Nowak, 2011). Hence, simply the constitution explains on how power should be used when conducting government activities.
