World War II has had a profound effect on technologies and innovations in our current lives than any other war. The event that took place in the period between 1938-1945 saw the modernization of weapons, more innovations, and more knowledge in mathematics and science (Booß-Bavnbek, Bernhelm, and Høyrup 126). There were numerous scientific principles and inventions which came about as a result of World War II. According to Miller (289), the period also saw the development of small and handheld devices and electronic devices. These devices become more reliable, rugged, and efficient. Radar technology was also invented during this time. It is observed that radar engineering did set the basis for what we refer to as modern electronics, for example, the Television sets. Most of the inventions that were founded during this time were meant to help in the War but some made their way to help in other areas, for example, the radar technology could be used by meteorologists to track follow or know where storms are and the intensity of the same (Macksey 28). From medicine to nutrition, the inventions of this period affect many sectors. Below text is going to analyses modernization of weapons during World War II based on Battlefield technique, the tactics used, casualties suffered, and the results of the WWII. Weapons and Casualties Second World War saw revolutionilization of weaponry where not only were the lethality of the weapons increased but there was the emergence of future weaponry that resulted in a large number of casualties. The game changer was the atomic bomb that left devastating effects behind. The modern weapons were used to conduct barbaric acts, where the users were neither remorseful nor pitiful. According to Legro (112), it is estimated that over 60 million people died. The mechanical way of fighting was replaced by automation. Amphibious landing craft and aircraft carries, dive-bomber, and the self-propelled gun grew among the soldiers. The modern weapon crossed borders in that they could be used in many environments from land to sea. Pistols and rifles were more advanced in this stage. The submachine was a common weapon in World War II where the Germans had produced the masterpiece or the fully automatic assault rifle. They also moved from homemade grenades to the lethal and explosive hand grenades. World War II was characterized with guns of high velocity, low-velocity fire howitzers, mortals with ability to drop shells at great angles. Rockets were used to deliver missiles for example bazooka. America built the computer to be used in calculating artillery firing tables. The lunch of V2 was another major breath through during World War II. V2 non-test that occurred in Holland leaving over 6000 dead. Tactics To get comprehensive literature on World War II tactics, one must analyses the German side fully. Like all the other battles that have occurred in history, World War II depended on the techniques of the foot soldiers. This is the strategy and the techniques applied by the foot soldiers in war.
