1 What were the inspirations behind the revolution?
One of the inspirations behind the American Revolution was the changing laws, which limited the freedom of people living in the American colony. The loss of natural rights fueled discontent among the untrained American population who would later come together to fight a war against a mighty British army (Israel 142). The founding fathers popularized the laws of nature because the British colonial government could no longer sustain the needs of American people as per the social contract between people and government.
Moreover, undesirable events that took place due to the tension between British occupiers and the American public, Bacon's rebellion fueled the adoption of the political philosophy, the right to rebel. The American population was inspired to rebel against British brutality and executed their civil duties and make the conditions in the country acceptable (Israel 148). Eventually, the revolution became a reality because the American founding fathers were moral citizens with a reason to revolt against an unfair system.
2 How did slavery compare to indentured servitude? What changes took place in slavery during the seventeenth-century in the Chesapeake and Southern colonies?  Why?  What was the state of slave treatment in each phase of this development?
Slavery was the cheapest labor compared to indentured servitude, where there were laws to protect some of their rights. In essence, the indentured servitude was temporary, and the contracts could be extended if a servant broke laws (Shaw-Taylor 134). After slavery became a way of life during the seventeenth-century in Chesapeake and southern colonies, white colonialists started to replace the failing tobacco business by planting corn and raising cattle. Large planters were able to use their growing influence to gain political power and dominate political offices.
During the start of widespread slavery, black and white servants formed alliances that made indentured servitude less appealing. At this stage, slaves enjoyed some privileges because of their relationships with white workers. As a result, a caste of racially defined laborers was formed to restrict servants and slave movements; slaves were slowly losing their right to associate with white workers (Shaw-Taylor 136). The possibility of forming alliances between black and white workers lessened, and racial slavery was attained to heal the undesirable relationship between wealthy and poor farmers. The whites eventually united as members of a "superior" racial group, which led to poor treatment of slaves by their new masters.
