The Spanish invaded America to establish religious and economic dominance in the new territory. The expansion of its territories to America was an initiative motivated by Spain's successful conquest of Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America. The economic benefits yielded from these colonies steered Spain to extend its reach to the Americas. Therefore, the Spanish goals in the New World were to expand their empire through colonizing America, amassing more wealth, and spreading Christianity.
