Impacts of blaming China for the Coronavirus pandemic
The emergence of the novel coronavirus (COVID 19) has brought the world to a standstill. Many social, economic, and cultural issues have either stopped or been postponed indefinitely due to the virus. For instance, the Olympics, which has been an event that has happened for many years, was postponed for the first time due to the pandemic. The virus has also fuelled a strained relationship between two of the biggest economic powers in the world. US President Donald Trump has taken to the media to blame the outbreak on China, calling on the Chinese government to take full responsibility for putting the world in its present condition. In one of his statements from the White House in Washington DC, Donald Trump was quoted referring to the novel coronavirus as "kung-flu", which is an insinuation that the virus is related to kung-Fu, and ancient Chinese martial arts technique. His sentiments, according to analysts created tension between China and the United States of America.

However, the author adds that the relationship has not been rosy due to the various disputes that have arisen. As expected, each country shifted the blame on the other terming it as the faulty party in every instance. Recent events on COVID 19 have further escalated issues. The pandemic hit every economy in the world and had not spared even the major players (Carlsson-Szelak et al. 3). While more effort could be channelled towards reviving the health and economic condition of the world, the pacesetters are invested in shifting blames.
Researchers have gone all out try and link COVID 19 to China, further sabotaging the relationship between China and the US. Several media houses, most notably in the United States of America have come out to trace the origin of the coronavirus, which most appear to agree that is China (Zheng, Go and Wen). On its part, the Chinese government has come out to address the claim terming it as false. Based on the guidance of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which is the governing party in China, the country's leadership has claimed that the virus was brought to their nation by the US military (Hu and Wu). The United States of America as expecte...
