The Garbage Initiative
I will make my community a better place through creating at least three garbage disposal or collection points. I come from a community where waste disposal is a critical problem. I would love my area to be clean. Currently, there is only one garbage point but dirt roams in major places due to inappropriate disposal points for garbage. Consequently, poor collection and clearing of the garbage encourage scattering. Waste mismanagement is an environmental hazard. It may lead to other unhealthy occurrences like water and food contamination. Also, it promotes the spread of diseases and infections. Moreover, children tend to play in the dirt and this act has escalated child mortality in my community. Therefore, having more garbage pits with frequent emptying will improve the lives of people in my community. In addition, it will be beneficial to sensitize the community members on keeping the environment clean through proper waste disposal.
