Introduction
China’s environmental problems can be seen from high water pollution, extensive air pollution, and massive land degradation. These problems became prevalent when China decided to grow her economy based on rapid industrialization. However, the country has undertaken restoration measures inform of forestation to curb the situation. Nevertheless, China’s environmental problems are extensive that forestation alone is not adequate to restore the environment.

China has experienced water crisis in her history since 85% of the water is found in the south. Regardless water scarcity, many factories in the country have for a long time discharged waste into the water system. The agriculture system has also played a huge role in polluting water as Chinese farmers apply on average more fertilizer per unit area than almost any other country (Veeck, p 324). Such huge amount of fertilizer pollutes groundwater thus harming people who use it down stream.
