Cultural and Political Views on Abortion
The abortion debate revolves around whether a woman ought to or ought not to have the option of terminating the pregnancy. The issue of abortion attracts different views from in political and social-cultural contexts. With its morality having been contested for a long time, some argue against it while some support it. The reason for the getting rid of the fetus for mother’s survival appears to be the biggest concern for those against abortion. Abortion is also viewed as the right of women in the society. Feminists view abortion as the best way to escape men's domination and a way to liberate women (Callahan and Callahan 25). Abortion is therefore not viewed as murder but as a mother's refusal to nurture her baby.
