In your last essay, you told a story about your topic and its meaning to you. In this essay, the last contribution to your ‘zine, you will write an essay where you observe/engage with a person, event, place, and/or process related to your ‘zine topic. 
An Observation Essay encompasses several other specific genres:
I. Interviews
II. Event Reports
III. Location Reviews
IV. Process Analysis
You will need to choose two of the four options above as the components that will make up your Observation Essay. 
Each of the genres above has certain characteristics that we will explore together, but all of them have some common features that you will want to make sure you include in your Observation Essay:
Objective Description: Use vivid detail/description to provide your reader with a clear sense of your experience with the subject of your essay. Sensory detail may be linked to all five sense, but you may also need to employ figurative language. 
Subjective Details: Your physical and/or emotional reactions to the topic/subject you observe should be clear. For example, does a certain part of a sporting event make your heart race? Is the restaurant you are reviewing so noisy that you can’t enjoy your meal? What elements of the acting do you find important in the play you’re watching? Explain to your reader how the small details contribute to the larger experience.
Pertinent Information: It is essential that you provide your reader with the information they need to contextualize your observation. Consider the 5 W questions (Who, What, When, Where, Why, & How).

My curiosity in understanding humanoids sparked my interest to join a community that discusses the future of humanity’s coexistence with technology. The community invited me for a tour in one of the yearly events they hold to discuss the newest trends and breakthrough in artificial intelligence. The event was hosted in Massachusetts institute of technology where various high learning institutions showcase their projects. I went to this event as an observer and interacted with people with vast knowledge in artificial intelligence. The five-day event featured seminars, exhibitions, boot camps and other interactive activities aimed at sharing knowledge in understanding artificial intelligence.
The event featured the breakthrough in self-driving cars and the technology they use to perceive the world. Wearables and their accessories were also showcased to show how humans can depend on technology to increase their productivity and their better their lifestyles. Humanoids such as Asimo and Sophia capable of doing complex tasks were featured and they engaged the audience in question and answer forums. Various games that featured fights between robots were held. They were one of the most interesting fun activities to watch in the event.
The lectures given were to create awareness on the place of technology in not so distant future. The role they will play in enhancing our lives and enabling humans to live better lives. Heated debates ensued on the future of humanity in the face of the imminent threat artificial intelligence posed to humanity. The topics revolved around the ability to control autonomous machines which could be more intelligent than humans and if they can take over the control of the world. Various scholars vehemently argued that humans will have a peaceful coexistence with robots and they will better our lifestyle rather than taking away what makes humanity control our planet. On the other hand, the uncertainty that lingers is our inability to control our destiny by living together with autonomous machines that could exist on their own.
There was also a section of practical uses these intelligent agents have for humans. One of the key practical use is applying the technology in wars and human conflict to disarm or destroy the danger without risking the lives of soldiers and law keepers.
