Learning Styles and Strategies
Strengths of my learning style
My learning style is auditory. Auditory learners are the most engaged and responsive members in the classroom. A learner will typically recall what the professors teach and be a helpful participant as long as it is a social activity (Sidney, 2005). They enjoy speaking and listening to others and studying in noisy places. These types of students have several strengths. To start with, they are great at explaining ideas. They always have clues to every idea being presented in class. Auditory students are also interactive with others. They always write responses to their teachers. They are good at understanding subtle variations in tones of people’s voices (Qualter, Gardner and Whiteley, 2007). The students are always boosting the morale of other students and working in groups. They are never alone, and they are constantly engaging in helping others in solving difficult problems. They are also good for oral exams and participations in class discussions. Moreover, they are keen to listen to instructions and like story telling.
Comparison of the strengths with my personality type
Auditory strengths have several similarities with my personality type, which is ENTP personality. My character is also known as “the debater.” The main character of a debater is to shed arguments and beliefs as a way of fun (Clayton, Blumberg and Auld, 2010). They are always in question with every idea and have a quest for knowledge. Even though they like to argue, they are always good at explaining their ideas similar to an auditory learner. A debater is also interactive and always helping in problem-solving. People with ENTP personality are also good in the oral quiz and in discussions, which is also strength of an auditory learner.
