What's radical about the Black Panther party in our time now, and what can be useful in our time?
The Black Panthers were labeled as radicals for using force to defend African-American communities; nevertheless, their efforts were justified because they aimed to achieve the same freedom and privileges that the white community had. They targeted at changing the unjust and oppressive system that existed in the United States of America. The members of the Black Panther Party fought for freedom, decent housing, and the education of African- Americans. They demanded an end to police brutality and murders of black people right away (Cleaver, & Katsiaficas, 2014). Regardless, the black Panthers laid the groundwork for the future growth of American society in general and the African American community in particular. Today, as a result of their struggle for equal rights and the growth of social needs, there is a need to consider individuals that have been brutalized by those vowed to represent and preserve them and who have been dehumanized by a criminal justice system that operates in a way that is almost identical to that of fifty years ago. Black Panther Party has influenced many African Americans today to fight for their rights and independence by organizing riots, speeches, and marches to make their voices known.

The group became problematic to clean up and discipline. Most Black Panthers were only concerned about the uniform and the weapons. They became more militant and developed a hatred towards Whites due to the mistreatment they had endured. This violent behavior was ignited, and it developed into a problem that landed many African Americans in jail and even murdered. This was not the intention of the Black Panther Group.
