Arthur Penn’s Bonnie and Clyde is a breakthrough movie in the history of American films. It is a mixture of a variety of sentiments – funny, humorous, entertaining, but at the same time, melancholic, heart-breaking, and sad. It actually portrayed a lot of different emotions of human life. It is about how two infamous robbers, who were nobodies at first, got themselves at the center of the spotlight. They were not too much of experts in robbery, but they were good in killing people and incredibly exceptional in being famous lawbreakers.
The story began in Texas with Bonnie sighting Clyde checking out her mother’s car. When she went to him to check who he was, she was surprised not just about what she found, but also about what she realized – that her life would change forever. Clyde Barrow, played by Warren Beatty, was a handsome man who just got out of prison and is under parole. Bonnie Parker, on the other hand, played by Faye Dunaway, was a simple lady who had big dreams for herself. In the beginning, it has been explicitly shown that Bonnie had a thing for Clyde, but it was not reciprocated.
