The movie director takes us into the women driving school in Saudi Arabia, which is the largest driving school around the globe.
Through short interviews and vérité footages, the director seems to resolve the misconception regarding Saudi women's social and cultural status. Notably, the female driving ban and the guardian system issue, which were active in the past, significantly impact the entire documentary, introducing the country's current prominent social and legal changes for women. The movie's driving school becomes the icon of women's cultural and social development as the driving instructor Amal is shown with her family, confidently sharing her pleasure over the royal decree. Besides, the director lets us meet a female showroom seller who is happy to sell vehicles to women. Also, he takes us to meet with a student at the school, whom Amal is training, and who successfully receives a driving license after passing the exam quite happily. Besides, an Uber driver Shahaad catches our attention, shifting passengers from here to there and occasionally interviewing them about how they feel about women's freedom in the country. To break these scenes, the story, writer from time to time, takes us to women congregated at a restaurant discussing women's freedom and reacting to the incident of a Saudi teen who rebelled as picturized by the director in the movie as well.
All in all, they reject the idea to 'generalize' the concepts of gender bias and violence as set by media and their culture's history with a few significant bans, including female driving, which is a matter of past now.
