What Stood Out to Me from The Film
The film “Call Center Blues " stood out to me because it depicts deportees' physical, emotional, and psychological struggles. Specifically, the film appeals to the emotional part of me as a viewer by contrasting the lives of US deportees as they attempt to find a new life in Tijuana, Mexico. What is deduced from the strange new beginnings of the four characters is that their lives are not different from other deportees, as most of them find themselves attached to a society that views them as outsiders (Gandbhir, 2020). This concept is apparent in that most deportees feel American, mainly because they spent most of their time in the United States. Therefore, regardless of whether they were never legally American citizens, America means a lot to them, and being deported does not ease their lives.
