How would you describe SAS’s employee management using the P-O-L-C framework? In addition, provide an example from SAS of each facet of the P-O-L-C framework: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, and briefly explain how the example aligns with that facet. 
The P-O-L-C framework stands for the planning, organizing, leading and controlling functions. SAS uses the framework when planning to set goals and objectives. The CEO Mr. Goodnight seeks to keep the employees motivate to increase productivity. By pampering employees including offering massage packages and other perks keep the employees working in the organization. At the same time, all the benefits are evaluated to determine that they are cost effective before they are finally implemented (Schu, 2001). This has resulted in low turnover rates compared to other software companies.
Organizing is a management function that is associated with allocating human resources and developing an organizational structure to facilitate meeting the objectives. The organizational culture at the organization at SAS supports employee motivation to improve performance this is consistent with the company’s mission to drive innovation while improving performance (Carpenter, Bauer & Erdogan, 2010). The management and especially the CEO have built a unique culture that fosters trust and innovativeness and this differentiates the company from rivals. Balancing the work with the daily life and allowing the employees to use the gym during the day.
