Skills: Imagine that you are organizing a hockey school, to develop general skills for young kids. It is your intent to cover all basic skills needed to play the game, both offensive and defensive.

When it comes to sports, what most people know involves football, rugby or basketball. However, under the fanfare of these three, comes hockey, a sport that has some of the most interesting rules any game can ever have. Hockey is an outdoor game that is played around the globe by players across many nations. Hockey is also popular in some countries like Great Britain, India, Pakistan, and New Zealand. In fact, it is the national sport in Canada and India. Since 1928, hockey has become one of the most attended sports around the world. Like most other sports, it involves two opposing teams, each having eleven players. When playing hockey, a player has to hit the ball using a stick into the goal. A team is awarded a goal once the ball crosses the goal line of the opponent.
Hockey is an exciting game, and it has a lot of health benefits. Playing hockey has a lot of benefits. For example, it improves concentration because an individual can concentrate while still learning. Generally, hockey improves the mental agility of the players. As a coach or a trainer taking over from another, it is important to have certain aspects to apply, so as to keep the players motivated. There are also a set of skills that a typical hockey player needs to possess, from the defensive, mental up to the offensive aspect.
Part One: Skills
1 Skating
There are basic skills that are needed in hockey. First, skating is an essential skill because if a person cannot be able to skate, then it is impossible to play hockey on a high level. Skating is also necessary because it assists in enhancing other skills that are needed. When learning to skate, children should learn to skate, must possess fundamental movements of coordination, agility, and balance. Thus agility acceleration, defense, and spend are necessary skating skills. As players continue to grow, their skating skills must continue to develop, and they should be in a position to play effectively. Skating is an essential skill for all the hockey players, both offensive and defensive. This is because, all these players will need to have a great degree of agility in movement as well as turning, so as to counter the opponent at whichever position.
Additionally, shooting and puck handling are also crucial. Young children must be able to balance and have a stance. In Hockey, skating skills should continue to get developed throughout the career. First, players are introduced to the necessary skating skills that are novice and Timbits' initiation. With time players should continue to develop the skills and refine them later.
Further coaches should also address some of the techniques that are required for proper skating. When skating, players should learn to skate forward after stopping. Once players have been able to pick up the speed, they should take short strides.
