Applying Nursing Theory in Practice Neuman’s Systems Theory             Neuman’s systems theory asserts that patients react to environmental factors, thus impacting their wellness. Furthermore, it is notable that health is considered a continuous process that fluctuates with illness based on prevailing conditions. As a result, illness in patients can be equated to a lack of systemic needs in a patient, causing instability (Alligood, 2022). Therefore, nurses are considered active participants in the nursing process, where they play the role of caregivers tasked with enhancing the environment and reducing stressors that may negatively affect the patient’s health. Therefore, with the environment playing an essential role in health care, a patient continues to move towards negentropy unless changes occur and alter conditions.             In nursing practice, it is evident that Neuman’s systems theory is applicable in several situations. For instance, in one case, a patient admitted to the hospital for an extensive period with a head injury showed signs of fluctuating levels of wellness due to interpersonal stressors. Family members regularly visited the patient over the week, increasing happiness and improving overall well-being. However, it always bothered the patient that his children could not visit him, leading to perceived interpersonal stress. As a result, his health fluctuated at times, leading to an intensification in blood pressure when he would mention this issue to his spouse and nurses.
