The main aim of healthcare practitioners is to provide high-quality care and safety to patients that enhance their chances of being healthy and free from diseases. This quality of care delivery is based on the six major aims which include timeliness, safety, effectiveness, efficiency, equity, and patient-centeredness. However, patients have been complaining of the below standard or poor quality services provided by the healthcare practitioners in hospitals. Such poor and safety healthcare deliveries have resulted to taint reputations of the healthcare sectors in the USA. Thus, the different types of poor and safety health care delivery have resulted in the following impacts.
Increase in financial cost for healthcare delivery is the main impact of poor quality and safety healthcare. The rising healthcare cost is a challenging issue to individual, family, community and the government of the USA. Most of the people who pay these costs usually search for tradeoffs and are at pain when they realize that they receive low value for their healthcare finance (Lee, Khong & Ghista, 2006).
Secondly, poor quality healthcare and safety lead to reduced economic growth of the USA as a nation. The reduced economic growth is usually exhibited regarding the constant increase in customers who are lost due to poor quality health care service delivered.
