I. Explain each of the following and how older American citizens benefit from them: a. ADA – Americans with Disabilities Acti. The ADA benefits older Americans because its basic tenet prohibits the discrimination of individuals who have disabilities. Since older individuals are more likely to be afflicted with disabilities, especially those incurred in age, this means that elderlies benefit most from this law. b. ADEA – Age Discrimination in Employment Acti. The ADEA prohibits discrimination of discrimination depending on age in terms of promotion, benefits, and compensation, among others. This is highly beneficial for the elderlies considering that over 6.4 million Americans are 60 years old and above, representing an estimate of 15% of the total workforce (Schramm, 2020). c. FMLA – Family Medical Leave Acti. The FMLA grants citizens a protected and unpaid medical leave for specific reasons related to family and health. This benefits older Americans the most considering that these individuals are at higher risks of illnesses and more elderlies desire to spend their remaining time with their loved ones. d. OAA - Older Americans Acti. The Older Americans Act is one of the legislations that are specifically targeted to elderlies. Medicare provides several options for individuals regarding prescription medication, doctor visits, and hospital stays, among others (Johnson & Sullivan, 2020). This is more specifically designed for elderlies over 65 years old, which means that the primary beneficiary of these plans is elderly Americans. Accordingly, Medicare provides three plans (Plans A, B...
