Chapter one: King Jesus- A friend During Slavery
An important concept covered by the author in chapter 1 of the book is the role of Jesus in the lives of African Americans during the fight against slavery. In the Bible, Jesus identified with the oppressed and the afflicted, those who experienced the same conditions as the enslaved
