As this chapter marks the end of our study of Art Theory together this semester, I thought it would be a good idea to reflect on the ideas, philosophies, and theories posed to us. You will have an opportunity to think about how we might project these ideas onto images in our visual culture.
To earn points for this week's discussion, please complete the following:
Review any theories/theorists that have stuck out to you in your reading from the past 8 chapters of our book. Narrow your interest down to one.
Pick any artwork/image that you feel is best analyzed through the particular theory or philosophy you chose above. This imagery can be from any era and in any medium, try to think outside the box here. How would Plato interpret a video game? How might Semiotics help us analyze a contemporary ad for an Apple product?
reply to this post with an embedded image of your chosen work and in a well-edited paragraph explain the connection between that image and the theory/theorist you chose. Make sure to tell us the chapter in which you found it.

Seemingly, there is no life behind the residential area as it is occupied by hills.
In this artwork, Rivera has used various shapes such as squares as shown on the bottom right part of the work, and pyramids on the upper side of the artwork that show the beauty of the land. Although the artist has used different items in the work that go along with the spotlight theory, the brown color in the bottom left o...
