Reaction Paper Instructions:

Critical Reflection Paper
Length: 700–750 words
Instructions
Pick three readings from Units 1 and 2 and prepare a 700–750 word paper in which you react to them from your own perspective. A personal reflection requires critically thinking about what you have read / viewed by assessing the merit of the information presented. For example, ask yourself: What persuades me to agree / disagree with the author’s assertions or conclusions? What specifically changed my thinking (or reinforced my understanding) about the issue? What personal implications do I draw from these readings? What is missing from the analysis the authors make?
Please follow these guidelines:
The three readings you choose can all be from Unit 1, all from Unit 2, or a combination of both units. Indicate in your paper which readings you are reflecting on.
Use the themes and concepts from Units 1 and 2 for your paper.
Don’t summarize the readings. Your audience knows the readings, so a summary is not necessary. Focus on your analysis and not on summarizing the texts.
This is not an opinion paper. Please provide specific evidence for an idea you are defending / opposing.
Citations are required. If you are using someone else’s ideas or words, you MUST cite your source properly. Whether you are paraphrasing or quoting someone’s words, you need to indicate the author in the text and in the reference section at the end of the paper.

Unit 1: Governance: A Definition (or Many?) (Reading)
In the reading about government and how it relates to socioeconomic trends, the changes and complexities of modern society are looked at in detail (Anonymous, 2020). In this paper, I have presented a critical governance analysis from different perspectives.
Understanding that governance includes several groups, such as government representatives, for-profit businesses, non-profit organizations, and international groups, shows how different societal actors are becoming increasingly connected. The interpretation also stresses that governance is inherently political, with many groups fighting for power to further their goals (Demmers et al., 2004). I think the analysis missing is a more in-depth look at environmental problems and how they affect the government. The reading only mentions global warming quickly as one of the world's problems, but it does not say anything about how important environmental factors are in governing and making policy. The reading also discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has changed government and social and economic trends (Anonymous, 2020). But it would have been helpful to look more closely at the lessons from the pandemic and how they can affect future ways of running the government.
This reading has been a fascinating look at government and how it relates to social and economic trends. Even though the analysis gives a thorough summary, the topic would have been better if more studies had been done on environmental issues and the lessons learned from the COVID-19 epidemic.
Unit 2: The Globalization Debate (Reading)
The reading on the globalization debate provides valuable insights into the contrasting perspectives on the nature and implications of globalization. It presents the contention between a strong economic view of globalization (Farooq et al., 2022). I have critically analyzed and given my thoughts on the globalization debate in this paper.
The distinction between globalization's solid and soft interpretations resonates with the complexities of understanding this multifaceted phenomenon. The strong economic view implies that nation-states have limited policy maneuverability and must adhere to global market imperatives to avoid severe economic consequences (Larionova & Kirton, 2020). One aspect that particularly struck me is the emphasis on distinguishing between increased levels of international economic connection and exchange and a truly international global order. Moreover, the reading highlights the political dimensions of the term globalization and its potential to mask the underlying changes occurring at the political level. This observation calls for critical scrutiny of the language and rhetoric employed in globalization discussions. I am inclined towards ...
