Lubbock Texas is a commercial centre of the South Plains area of United States. According to 2013 census, Lubbock County had a population of 240,766 ranked 84tth most populous town in the United States of America. Currently, it is 11th most populous in Texas City. The population density is around 724.2/km2, with an average housing units of 96,000. Population of different ethnic groups is shared in the following percentages: Whites-76%, African American-8.2%, Native American-0.8%, Asian-3% and other race- 12%. This population is balanced in both urban and rural population.
According to American Marketing Association (2002), Lubbock is an outstanding agricultural and industrial county in Texas. The population in this county provides the aspired market for locally produced goods. For instance, Lubbock has largest butter manufacturing centre in Texas due to high demand of the products that is governed by the presence of willing buyers. This attribute enables the company to produce over eight million pounds of cheese annually.
The estimated household income as indicated from the 2014 census is $43,788. This translates to $62,000 for a family. Median income for males deviates from that of the women with $10,230.
