Yang has been sharing his views on media information policy. He believes that freedom of the pre should be enjoyed by the media. He has also pointed out that breaking up big social media companies such as Facebook that owns WhatsApp and Instagram will not provide a solution to the social media problem affecting America. He has instead suggested that the government needs to form a different department that will oversee the social media companies by coming up with regulations on these platforms such as age restriction and many others. He has also supported the efforts that are made by social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook to mitigate the issue of fake news.
