Role stress and strain are two significant aspects that every nurse must understand since they affect nurses globally. Role stress and strain are majorly associated with the increased pressure on APN due to the high demands they are required to accomplish (Hardy & Hardy, 1988). As a nurse, I noted role strain on dealing with patients suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. Having engaged in one of the facilities addressing the issue, I noted that the major problem is the increased infected patients who require equal attention. However, we had to strain with the reduced number of nurses to ensure that the patients are attended to. This caused a lot of issues within the hospital setting and increased complaints and social conflicts. Therefore, role strain and stress limit efficient operations in the hospital setting.
