One of the objectives under the affordable care Act, is to attain high-quality, longer lives free of preventable disease, disability, injury, and premature death. Under the program Healthy People 2020, the main mission is to create a society where citizens will be able to live long and also healthy. The program strives to identify some of the nationwide health improvements priorities by increasing public awareness and also understanding some of the determinants of health, disease and disability (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 2011).
Tobacco use has been identified as one of the national health priorities. Under the Healthy People 2020, the program is organized in three key areas: reducing tobacco use prevalence by implementing policies that will reduce tobacco use especially among young people and adults.
