The Need for Standard Waste Recycling Laws Name: University: The world is faced with an impending and serious crisis: the complete exhaustion of its natural resource reserves and environmental pollution. The production and poor management of industrial waste destroys the natural ecosystem, while uncontrolled use of resources portends a shortage crisis. The possibility of such an occasion spells doom to the global economy and unprecedented human health risks. It is a catastrophe that is waiting to happen if no mitigation measures are taken in time. The problem is compounded by a rapidly increasing human population that creates pressure on available resources and accelerates the rate of waste production. At the same time, states, such as in the U.S., apply different waste management regulations, thereby hindering efforts to achieve national environmental conservation goals. It is a matter of urgent necessity, therefore, for governments, environmental agencies and health organizations to formulate and implement policies that would promote efficient use of resources and proper waste management. One viable solution is enacting standard waste recycling laws that will promote environmental friendly corporate practices and regulate the exploitation of resources. Accordingly, this essay argues that recycling laws should reflect shared goals and objectives to avoid conflict and confusion in waste management and increase pollution accountability in the corporate sector. Standard laws are necessary to give law enforces more power prosecute violators of environmental regulations, facilitate inter-state cooperation and responsibility, and reduce health risks posed by poor waste disposal. The standardization of waste management laws will allow policy makers and enforcers to implement policies more effectively than is the case presently.
