The Eighteenth Amendment bill prohibited the transportation, and selling of alcoholic substances with the motive of adopting a national control movement that believed that the use of alcohol was out of control and caustic in America. Among the issues that propelled this prohibition included many women who came out to bring reforms on alcohol related issues. The jobs and tax revenues that accrued from liquor industries declined thus sending the country into a great depression. Disrespect for the law and crime rates also mushroomed.
