CASE STUDY OUTLINE
Background Situation:
Corporate executive has been accustomed to managing and developing career professionals as well as cross functional teams (highest level of education attained: college/masters; average age: 25) towards a common goal. This group is self-motivated and averages 3-5 years with a company. They are motivated by career progression, increased job responsibility, increased pay, and bonus compensation.
This same executive has now opened a business where she staffs 15 hourly workers (highest level of education attained: high school; average age: 18-20). This group is not motivated the same as her corporate employees and she would like to identify ways to motivate them in the follows areas that will best impact her business and sales growth.
The Owner invested into this franchise with the intentions of maintaining her full-time job. Therefore, she needs to ensure that she maintains high retention for operational consistency and that her team can drive against KPIs during operating hour that will enable her to drive revenue and scale to additional franchise locations.
KPIs:
• Average Transaction of $7.50
• Average Daily Sales: $1,400
• Waste %: Less than 1% each month
• Labor %: Less than 25% = high productivity
• Sense of urgency: 3 minutes or less per customer

There is a three-generation workforce who are joining the modern workforce. This workforce includes the Baby boomer, Generation Y, and Generation X.
