The article addresses the fundamental approach to motivating employees at the place of work to improve service delivery by such workers. In this regard, most employees do not value financial reward as compared to their safety conditions. Companies have adopted on the appropriate ways to motivate their employees of which one of them is the extended traveling benefitsas a key approach. In this article, the employees are motivated by the HRM team through giving freedom to choose their travel plans and also to select the flights that are more comfortable and secure. By allowing employees to do this, they feel more valued in the organization hence a critical tool in boosting the morale of the employees.
The utilization of travel perks has increasingly come into play as a tool for enhancing employee motivation. In the article, employees such as Eleanor Lacey and Silicon Valley, who initially had been demotivated in their place of work because of the travels involved in the job, changed their perception about the job due to the introduction of the new motivational approach. The utilization of flights that are more comfortable and secure with no restrictions, has ignited many willing to work for such companies and also the existing employees to deliver at their best without worrying about traveling problems. Employees do not get worried about when to see their families since travels by flights are made nonstop hence enabling regular visits to their families. Therefore, it is a great motivation for many employees. Also, companies have prioritized the traveling needs of senior employees such as the C.E .O of the organization who do not necessarily need to negotiate about their travels with the HRM team. Individuals of such rank in the organization play a critical role in ensuring that the organization operates efficiently and their needs should not be ignored.
Professionals that are in high demand can accept to work with the organizations without travel restrictions and those who do not opt to use cheaper connecting flights that are usually riskier. Most of the employees in the organization initially felt demotivated due to the utilization of roads as a means of transport which was hectic due to the problem of traffic jams and wastage of time. Now, through the usage of flights as a means of transportation, employees do not bother even if they leave the place of work late as they know that reaching home is quick, easier, comfortable and safer through the employment of safety flights. Such benefits do not mean that the company is overspending but rather, it is a way of saving costs that otherwise could have been incurred in replacing new employees.
