Poverty alleviation has been a key component of China's development strategy, with remarkable results across the country. Sichuan is one of the provinces at the vanguard of this big project. Sichuan, one of China's most populated and geographically diverse regions, has faced poverty-related difficulties. However, in recent years, the Chinese government has adopted focused efforts and policies to alleviate poverty in Sichuan. This analytical look at poverty alleviation in Sichuan digs into the province's distinctive economic, political, and topographical aspects that shape its development landscape. As China's economy accelerates, the complicated interplay of governmental policies, neoliberal ideals, and poverty alleviation measures has become more visible. The Poverty Alleviation Strategies Sichuan Province
Poverty has been among the most concerning issues in Sichuan province, China. The rural areas of Sichuan Province rank among the least affluent in China. Households falling in low economic tiers in the province experience an annual per capita income of below 500 EUR (Du, 2022). Within Sichuan, the Chinese government has officially designated 36 counties as "national poverty counties". However, it is notable that efforts have been put to alleviate poverty challenges in Sichuan going by the prevalent data. N 2010, the province had an average poverty rate of 13.11%. The high rates have consistently plummeted due to a collective stakeholder effort that has been put in to address the issues. By 2013, poverty rates had fallen to 2.31%. More positive gains have been witnessed in the province as the latest data indicate that poverty rates will stand at less than 0.3% by 2021 (Du, 2022).
